The Invisible Heart of a Tyre
La mostra “The Invisible Heart of a Tyre” allestita nel 2011 negli spazi di PirelliHangarBicocca ha voluto mostrare al grande pubblico proprio il cuore vivo e pulsante che anima un prodotto fondamentale qual è il pneumatico.
Cosa c’è dentro un pneumatico? Di cosa è fatto il suo “cuore invisibile”?
A queste domande ha risposto la mostra – settembre 2011 – allestita dalla Fondazione Pirelli presso gli spazi di PirelliHangarBicocca, uno dei luoghi più prestigiosi a livello internazionale per le rassegne d’arte contemporanea. Eccolo, il cuore del pneumatico, visibile attraverso le sue fasi produttive rappresentate da installazioni artistiche, elaborazioni grafiche, strumenti multimediali. Dalla materia prima – quella gomma naturale rappresentata da una foresta di alberi del caucciù alti venti metri – alla ricerca e alla progettazione e all’intervento manuale dello “sgorbiatore”: tutto raccontato e interpretato attraverso un linguaggio artistico contemporaneo, capace di svelare al grande pubblico una realtà industriale complessa ma affascinante.
The exhibition 'The Invisible Heart of a Tyre' set up in 2011 in the PirelliHangarBicocca spaces aimed to show the general public precisely the living, beating heart that animates a product as fundamental as the tyre.
What is inside a tyre? What is its 'invisible heart' made of?
These questions were answered by the exhibition - September 2011 - set up by the Pirelli Foundation in the spaces of PirelliHangarBicocca, one of the most prestigious international venues for contemporary art exhibitions. Here it is, the heart of the tyre, visible through its production phases represented by artistic installations, graphic elaborations and multimedia tools. From the raw material - that natural rubber represented by a forest of twenty-metre-high rubber trees - to research and design and the manual intervention of the 'gouger': all narrated and interpreted through a contemporary artistic language, capable of revealing a complex but fascinating industrial reality to the general public.
